Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dry Fast Dry Nail Color delivers on its promise; it provides a very quick dry. In a minute or so my nails were perfectly dry, and didn’t get dinged on zippers, clothes or in my hair. I was able to paint my nails and quickly move on to my regularly scheduled day. The brush is flat, and frankly awesome. It provides enough polish to cover a hand full of nails at one time, making the painting process that much quicker.  It took a while to get used to, in fact, I really hated the brush at first.  The colors are saturated and quite lovely. The polish didn’t chip very fast at all, leaving me happily satisfied with my Insta-Dry nails for a few days at a time (keeping in mind I keep my nails fairly short, and did not do things that ruin the integrity of the polish, like washing dishes, for example).

But along with a quick drying time comes the problem: a quick drying nail polish! Take a look at “Jade Jump” in the picture above, see the crackling sides of nail polish drying up? And on “Lickety-Split Lime” you can literally see your nail polish drying up and becoming virtually unusable. Once you use this nail polish a few times, it takes its toll on the nail polish itself, and it dries up. Way too fast. I have great things to say about the color Jade Jump, everyone from co-workers to my biker Uncle complimented me on this nail polish. Needless to say, it quickly became my favorite, so I bought other Sally Hansen Insta-Dry colors, hoping for a similar result. That’s when I realized the unfortunate problem. This week old nail polish felt like it was a year old. Goopy, and practically unusable, I had to turn to other nail polish brands for my favorite mint color.  You can see how much I used it, as there’s barely any left!

Conclusion: Pretty awesome for the first few uses. I would buy it again if I found a color I was dying to have, but it’s not meant for the long haul. Don’t expect to be using this nail polish in a year, let alone 3 months from now.
